Chamber Members Team Up for Back to School Supply Drive 07/06 - Elkton Area United Services (EAUS) is teaming up with SoLace Studios to hold a Back to School Supply Drive to help Elkton area students have the basic essentials they need to succeed in school. School supplies may be dropped off in Elkton at SoLace Studios, 193 W. Spotswood Ave. from August 1st through August 15th.
School supply donations valued at $10 or more or cash contributions to EAUS made at SoLace Studios during the drive will receive a 15 percent off shopping pass which will be valid until December 31, 2010 at SoLace Studios. Sale items and special orders are excluded from the offer. School supplies needed include but not limited to notebook paper, spiral notebooks, three-ring binders and folders, number 2 pencils, blue and black ink pens, highlighters, trapper keepers and backpacks.SoLace Studios is the working studio of marbling fiber artist Barb Polin as well as the fine handcrafts of over 100 regional and national artisans in a completely restored circa 1920’s building originally housing The Kite Drug Co. EAUS is a non-profit comprehensive social service agency serving over 11,000 residents. In addition to school supplies, the organization provides assistance with housing, utilities, medical needs, transportation, monthly food pantry, weekly meals on wheels, holiday cheer, traveler’s aid, GED classes, free reading books for children, senior citizen activities, as well as a thrift store.
